Churches

SHRINE OF JESUS, THE WAY, THE TRUTH & THE LIFE

Address: Reclamation Area, Roxas Boulevard (beside Mall of Asia)

Brief Description:
Built in 1999, this is the only church in Roxas Boulevard and one of the newer places of worship in Metro Manila. I believe that both the altars of the Shrine of Jesus and St. James the Great in Ayala, Alabang were done by the same person. It is made of wood and colored brown with gold highlights.
This door faces Manila Bay and needs to be closed during windy days.

ST JEROME EMILIANI PARISH CHURCH,ALABANG

Located beside Alabang Town Center

I never fail to visit those two churches above whenever i'm home(Philippines).

ST JAMES CHURCH,SYDNEY

St James Church is the oldest church building in the City of Sydney and has been in continuous use from its consecration on 11 February 1824 to the present.

We get to hear mass at St James Church During our day off.

11 People trapped in a Lift

Police free 11 people from Sydney Tower

July 3, 2008, 5:42 am

Police have rescued 11 people who spent several hours trapped in a lift in Sydney's tallest building.

Police were called to the Sydney Tower in Market St in the CBD at about 7pm (AEST) on Wednesday after a double deck lift became stuck midway between the restaurant and the ground floor, about 200m above street level.

Police rescue personnel used harnesses to lift each person through the ceiling of the broken down lift, before taking them across to another lift and ferrying them to the ground one by one.

The last person was brought to the ground at about 11.30pm (AEST), a police spokesman said.

None of those trapped, all aged between 20 and 50, were injured in the incident, he said.

"They were checked over by paramedics and given a clean bill of health," he said.

"One person was shaken up.

"Other than that they were all in pretty good spirits considering what they had been through."

It is not known why the lift became stuck, he said.

"Building management is now examining what caused the incident," he said.

Gosshhh! This is sooo scary,imagine being trapped for four and a half hours inside a lift! Me, i'd rather use the stairs (it's safer,better and good for your health).

I am The Empress?

You are The Empress

Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.

The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents,
beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home
decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.

The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

What is Yum cha?

While i love Japanese food,my husband is my opposite. He adores Chinese food,as if he's Chinese or Chinese looking at least hehehe!

We go Yum cha almost every week because of my husbands addiction to Yum cha.

Yum cha in Australia, and particularly in Sydney, is a serving of small Chinese dishes of a large variety of mainly steamed items, such as dim sums and barbecued-pork buns, served from trolleys that go around among the diners.

If you haven't had yum cha before, try it for the experience of it. Be warned, you could easily get hooked.

Okonomiyaki

Okonomiyaki is said to be Japanese-style pizza. This recipe makes Osaka-style
okonomiyaki. There are lots of toppings.

Ingredients:

* 2 cup all purpose flour
* 1 1/4 cup dashi soup stock or water
* 4-6 eggs
* 1 - 1 1/4 lb cabbage
* 6 tbsps chopped green onion
* 2/3 cup tenkasu (tempura flakes)
* 12 - 18 strips of thinly sliced pork or beef
* For toppings:
* Ao-nori (green seaweed)
* Okonomiyaki sauce (or tonkatsu sauce)
* Mayonnaise

Preparation:
Pout dashi soup stock in a bowl. Mix the flour in the soup stock. Rest the batter for an hour in the refrigerator. Chop cabbage finely. Take about 1/2 cup of the batter (to make one sheet of okonimiyaki) in another bowl. Mix chopped cabbage (about 1/4 lb), chopped green onion (about 1 tbsp), and tempura flakes (about 2 tbsps) in the batter. Make a hole in the middle of the batter and add an egg in the hole. Stir the batter. Heat an electric pan and oil slightly. Pour the batter over the pan and make a round. Fry meat or your choice of toppings on the side. Cook 5-7 minutes and place meat (toppings) on top of the okonomiyaki. Flip the okonomiyaki and cook for 5-7 more minutes. Flip the okonomiyaki again and spread okonomiyaki sauce and mayonnaise on top. Sprinkle aonori over the sauce. Sprinkle katsuobushi (bonito flakes) and beni-shoga (red ginger) if you would like.

I have my own version of the Recipe,my japanese pancake with a twist.But i can't share it(confidential),i love japanese food and this one is on the top of my list and highly recommended. Try it for sure you'll love it!
